Dignitas is more than our name. It is our philosophy. This Latin term refers to one's personal dignity and esteem in the community. At Dignitas, Inc., our mission is to restore a personal sense of worth and independence to person's with acquired brain injury and spinal cord injuries. Our goal is to maximize the functioning of each resident's capability and condition. Self-care and daily living skills are promoted through on-going guidance in the areas of dressing, grooming, kitchen use, home management, meal preparation, house cleaning, home maintenance, laundry, budgeting, banking, socialization, recreational, physical condition, health restoration, and the use of all community resources. Transportation is provided to facilitate each resident's assessment plan requirements.

An individualized plan is formulated and implemented with input from the resident, family treating physician, rehabilitation nurse, dietician, recreational therapist, psychologist and members of the team providing care. Each resident's care plan identifies a team of service providers, which might include Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, physical rehabilitation physician, neurologists, psychiatrists, neuro-psychology, behavioral specialists, and attendant care providers.

Dignitas has several houses in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. These homes are licensed by the State of Michigan to provide specialty services to persons with acquired brain injury and spinal cord injuries. The facilities provide 24-hour supervision and structure in a home atmosphere. We have a high staff to resident ratio to ensure quality of care at our homes. These homes adhere to all related regulations and guidelines. All homes are handicap accessible with wheel chair ramps and interior modifications to provide barrier-free movement within the homes.
The operations of Dignitas are overseen by a Board of Directors and consultants from a wide variety of academic and medical backgrounds and experience.

All of our homes provide service to male and female residents 18 years of age and older.
Dignitas provides residential & semi-independent services to clients with Acquired Brain injury & Spinal Cord Injuries.
