The goal of Dignitas is to restore our residents to the mainstream community at the earliest possible date. To accomplish this goal, we encourage independence by exposing our residents to real-life situations. The community-based programs and activities are closely supervised by Dignitas staff. The program is designed to enhance the transitional period between the hospital or residential care and independent living, with structure, supervision, and guidance.

As part of the Semi-Independent Living Program, multiple apartment sites are utilized throughout the Detroit Metropolitan Area.

We have a highly supervised site located in Farmington Hills. Staff live on site and are available 24 hours per day for on-call issues.

Sites are selected based on resident needs, i.e. proximity to family, work, therapy, bus lines, and shopping centers.

Behavioral contracts and expectations are developed with residents prior to the resident transitioning into an apartment setting.

Goals are assessed routinely in team meetings for all transitional residents.

At the various sites, Dignitas staff provide up to 24-hour, one-to-one paraprofessional supervision, based on the recommendations of the treatment team and physicians. This approach provides flexibility and cost effectiveness, while promoting client independence.

Dignitas provides residential & semi-independent services to clients with Acquired Brain injury & Spinal Cord Injuries.
